Hawaii Plumbing License

Hawaii plumbing license is required to become a plumber in the state. The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs(DCCA) is the regulatory body for the licensing.

When the board confirms your application, they will send you an “Examination Registration Form.” The papers should include your contact information, Social Security number, and exam scheduling preferences. The Social Security number is confidential.

To continue practicing your job, you need to refresh your certificate. Regardless of the date, your permission was issued, the renewal is every triennial by June 30. To maintain your authorization, show proof of continued competency.

You should also submit a renewal application and take educational courses on the updates of the Uniformed Plumbing Code. Lastly, you should also pass testing on those updates. The charge is $276.


The state does not have reciprocity agreements with other jurisdictions.
